“CELEBRATING 35 YEARS”

2021 is the 35th Anniversary of Chapter E’s GWRRA Charter!  Here are a few facts we thought you might be interested in knowing:

In 1986, Ralph Hood, Roger Kuykendall, Van Vance and Bill Lawson took a trip to Columbia, SC to get a Charter for Chapter ‘E’, the requirements for forming a Chapter at that time was 5 couples.

The first Director was Allen Bright.

The first meeting place for ‘E’ was the Best Western located on Laurens Rd. in Greenville.

Chapter Participants met at various member’s homes when the Best Western closed and continued until Ralph Hood was appointed State Director.

Roger Kuykendall is the only active GWRRA Member who was a “Founding Member” with this chapter.

Robert & Joyce Spooner were one of the earliest couples to join (both were very active in the Chapter prior to their passing).
